There have been some significant changes in the latest update to the 2023 basketball player rankings.

On Tuesday, the next-to-last update for the ’23 cycle was released by our good friends over at On3. All five of Kentucky men’s basketball’s signees cracked the Top 50, with a trio of them making the Top 7. SF Justin Edwards is the highest-ranked of the bunch, coming in at No. 4 overall. He’s slightly ahead of a pair of Camden (NJ) High School teammates, CG DJ Wagner and C Aaron Bradshaw, who check in at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. All three are considered five-star prospects.

CG Robert Dillingham is ranked No. 17 overall, also as a five-star, while in-state signee, CG Reed Sheppard, was tabbed No. 49 overall. Kentucky’s 2023 class is ranked No. 1 in the country by On3.

The last update from On3 came one month ago in early February with the final update expected this spring.

Four out of Kentucky’s five signees didn’t see much movement in their individual rankings. Edwards and Wagner stayed locked in with their rankings while Dillingham rose two spots and Sheppard fell one. The biggest change happened with Bradshaw, who fell from No. 1 overall down to No. 7 in between rankings updates.

With Bradshaw sliding down, there is a new top-ranked recruit by On3: Colorado signee Cody Williams, who jumped from outside the Top 15 to the No. 1 spot. Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, also made a huge leap, moving from outside the Top 25 all the way up to No. 9 overall. Bronny, who has gone from a borderline Top 40 prospect to a projected NBA lottery pick in a short amount of time, is not committed to any college or professional league at this time.

The On3 Consensus, which factors in multiple recruiting services, holds all five of Kentucky’s signees in much higher favor than On3’s own. Edwards is No. 2, Wagner is No. 3, Bradshaw is No. 4, Dillingham is No. 10, and Sheppard is No. 35 in the consensus rankings.

Not a bad group of future Wildcats.
