Kentucky Slowly Climbing Up Projected Brackets
Just because Joe Lunardi’s Twitter account got hacked, doesn’t mean we’re going to stop sharing Bracketology. That’s not a joke. Joey Bracket’s account has temporarily been suspended by Twitter. You might have to wait till Tuesday morning to hear from the ESPN bracketologist.
Even though Lunardi is temporarily shelved, we still have 63 others to scratch that itch. Andy Katz is one that does not get discussed too much here since he made the move to the NCAA’s digital website. He still puts out projected brackets from time to time and he knows what the Selection Committee loves: first round marquee matchups. He did just that in a new bracket Sunday afternoon.
Now only 50 days away from Selection Sunday, Andy Katz predicts a first round matchup between 10-seed Kentucky and 7-seed Duke. What’s also noteworthy: Kentucky is in the South Regional, the one hosted by Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center.

Kentucky is the first team just outside of the projected at-large cut by the Bracket Matrix. On average the Wildcats are a 10.63 seed, appearing on 40 of 64 bracket projections.
The Wildcats’ victory over Texas A&M was the second-best of the season, according to the NET rankings. After a Quad 1 win over Tennessee, they followed it up with a Quad 2 win at Rupp Arena. Kentucky could pick up another Quad 2 win this Tuesday on the road at Vanderbilt. The Commodores are fresh off an 85-82 win at Georgia. Tip-off at Memorial Gymnasium is set for just after 9 pm EST Tuesday night on the SEC Network.
