Kentucky Men's Soccer Seeks Consecutive Conference Titles
The #2 nationally ranked Kentucky Wildcats men’s soccer team is looking to repeat on Sunday at The Bell in Lexington as they take on James Madison University in the Sun Belt Conference championship.
Last year’s conference success
Before joining the Sun Belt Conference this season, the ‘Cats were a part of Conference-USA.
Going into the C-USA tournament last season, Kentucky had only lost one match. They did not disappoint and made a run all the way to the conference championship where they would go on to win 2-1 against Florida Atlantic in overtime.
Kentucky continues to be dominant in conference play this season. Coming into the Sun Belt tournament as the top seed, the ‘Cats remain undefeated for the first time in school history going into their title game against #7-seeded James Madison.
In October, the two teams matched up at James Madison. Kentucky came out with a victory of 3-1 and will look to find another similar win this weekend.

Pressure on Kentucky
If the ‘Cats are able to get the win on Sunday, this would make it their second consecutive conference title. They would also have the potential to get the highest seed that they have ever been in the NCAA tournament.
Currently, the highest that Kentucky has ever been seeded in the NCAA tournament was #3 overall. This could change if the ‘Cats remain undefeated; they already find themselves as the #2 nationally ranked team in the nation.
Kentucky is facing plenty of pressure.
Tune into ESPN+ at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, November 13th to see if the ‘Cats will be able to continue their undefeated run and get their second consecutive conference title.
