The NCAA held its tournament selection for softball on Sunday and Kentucky will, indeed, be dancing. Rachel Lawson’s team will be heading to Evanston, Illinois as Northwestern earned the right to host. The University of Miami (Ohio) and Eastern Illinois will also compete in the region for a chance to advance.

Kentucky earned one of the 32 at-large bids in the field of 64. They will begin play on Friday at 1:00 pm against Miami (Ohio) in a game that will be featured on the SEC Network.

The team watched the selection show, which took place on ESPN, on the big screen from their own softball field. The afternoon featured sundaes and Spikeball, which is not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

Florida defeated Kentucky in the SEC Tournament last week just after the ‘Cats won the series against the Gators the week prior. Kentucky finished the season 30-21-1 but now look to make a run on the national stage. To do so, they’ll need their two stars, Erin Coffel and Kayla Kowalik, who earned All-SEC First Team honors, to lead the way.

Be sure to tune in to the SEC Network and cheer them to a victory on Friday.
