Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football program have been hard at work since the season ended on Thanksgiving weekend to build the roster and get ready for another football season in the Bluegrass. Stoops is now in year 13 and will be looking to prove that last season’s big step back was a blip and not a trend.

Winter workouts have been off and running as the Cats have welcomed 29 new scholarship players to roster for the spring semester. We now know what that spring schedule will be as UK takes the turf at the Nutter Field House and practice fields outside of the Joe Craft Football Training Facility.

Practice will begin on March 10 and Kentucky’s pro day will take place on March 11 when numerous NFL scouts and general managers arrive in Lexington to see UK’s pro prospects workout. Zion Childress and J.J. Weaver will use that event to test after not receiving an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Spring practice will culminate on April 12. It’s worth noting that Kentucky has 15 spring practice dates carved out. The program did not complete all 15 practices last year.

Stoops went on record on Tuesday to state that Kentucky will have some version of a spring game but the details still need to be ironed out. Odds are that will occur on that second weekend in April.
