Kentucky WBB's staff, roster have ACC experience, which helps 'a lot' in prep for Louisville
Kentucky may be the lower-ranked team heading into Saturday’s matchup against No. 18 Louisville, but there is one significant advantage in favor of the Cats: experience.
Usually, Louisville is a team that gets most of their production from upperclassmen, but that’s not the case this season. Nine of the 15 players on Louisville’s roster are freshmen, in fact.
Kentucky is fortunate enough to have an older team, but on top of that, Georgia Amoore, Clara Strack, Teonni Key and basically the entire coaching staff outside of Ciara Gregory came over from the ACC.

Analyst calls out Kentucky fans
But how much does that actually help in preparing for Louisville?
“A lot,” Brooks said. “There’s a lot of familiarity, not only with their team, their personnel, their coaching, their style. We know what plays they like to run. Everything seems familiar. And we played them, I think it was like our third to the last game last year. So, play them quicker in another turnaround. There’s a lot of familiarity in what they do and what we do and how we play each other. So, that helps out a whole lot.”
Just another reason to like Kentucky’s chances to pull off the upset on Saturday.
