I must be missing something here. It was disappointing to see the nation’s coaches fail our Kentucky Wildcats by excluding them in the Week 6 Coaches Poll following their historic upset win at No. 6 Ole Miss. Now, the media nerds have done the same, putting our beloved Cats on the outside looking in of the Week 6 AP Poll.

Kentucky checked in at No. 33 overall in the US LBM Coaches Poll with 17 points overall. Now, the Wildcats come in at No. 35 overall in the AP Top 25 as a member of the ‘others receiving votes’ category.

Alabama sits atop the rankings and the SEC at No. 1, followed by Texas at No. 2, Tennessee at No. 4, Georgia at No. 5, Missouri at No. 9, Ole Miss at No. 12, LSU at No. 13 and Oklahoma at No. 19 to round out the conference in the latest update. South Carolina is also receiving votes with eight, followed by Kentucky with six — good for tenth in the SEC.

That blowout loss to the Gamecocks must have really tanked the Wildcats in the voters’ minds, despite taking two national contenders to the wire and defeating one of them on their home turf.
