Kentucky target Jayden Quaintance reclassifies to 2024
Things are moving quickly with one of the fastest-rising bigs in high school basketball. Jayden Quaintance, originally a member of the 2025 class, has decided to reclassify to 2024 following a standout grassroots season.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound center started the spring playing alongside fellow Kentucky target Jasper Johnson with Team Thad on the Nike EYBL circuit before closing out the summer with Team Loaded in the Adidas 3SSB championships.
Travis Graf of MADE Hoops broke the news of the five-star’s jump from ’25 to ’24.
The standout big earned a scholarship offer from Kentucky during an unofficial visit to Lexington back in June. The Wildcats join Baylor, Kansas, Mississippi State, NC State and Ohio State among other early offers. The professional route is also expected to be a serious option.
At just 15 years old, the Cleveland, OH native averaged an impressive 17.3 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per contest while shooting over 60 percent from the field at Overtime Elite’s Word of God — the same high school that produced Kentucky’s own John Wall — during the 2022-23 season.

Quaintance is currently rated as the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 1 center in the latest 2025 On3 Rankings.
Where will he sit in a historically weak 2024 class? Certainly near the top. And he’s going to be near the top of Kentucky’s priority list among rising seniors moving forward.
