A pair of Kentucky’s top recruiting targets came up just short of hoisting a championship trophy.

On Sunday in Rock Hill, SC at the adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship, Braylon Mullins and Malachi Moreno of Indiana Elite fell to the Utah Prospects 61-51 in the title game. Mullins finished with a game-high 22 points on 5-13 shooting, including a 4-10 clip from deep and a perfect 8-8 mark from the free throw line. Moreno added six points, three assists, and two rebounds on 3-6 shooting.

Mullins and Moreno hold offers from Kentucky and are considered among the Top 30 prospects in the 2025 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking. Mullins has an official visit with UK set for the weekend of Oct. 25 while Moreno will take his official visit the weekend of Big Blue Madness.

Kentucky assistant coach Cody Fueger was in attendance to watch them both in action.

On the other end of the floor, 2026 four-star point guard Ikenna Alozie posted 19 points and six rebounds on 8-13 overall shooting for the winning squad. The Wildcats have reached out to the No. 9 ranked rising junior since the contact period began in June, he tells KSR. The Utah Prospects have now won back-to-back 3SSB Palmetto Road titles.

Mullins, Moreno, and Indiana Elite were among the 3SSB circuit’s top teams all spring/summer. They brought a nearly perfect record to Rock Hill but were tripped up early on in the week and lost a pair of games to start the event. However, they recovered when it mattered most, taking down talented teams such as Team Loaded NC and Compton Magic en route to Sunday’s title game. But in the end, they just couldn’t overcome Utah Prospect’s impressive defensive performance.

Mullins and Moreno won’t take off too much time before hitting the hardwood next. The two Kentucky targets will attend the adidas All-American Camp next week in Atlanta.
