Kentucky TE target, Damarion Witten, commits to Ohio State
Cross one off the board for Kentucky in the 2024 recruiting trail. On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on Saturday evening that four-star tight end, Damarion Witten, will be attending the Ohio State University. In addition to the ‘Cats, the Cleveland, Ohio product also chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Oregon, West Virginia, and others.
On3’s Industry Ranking has Witten as the 353rd overall recruit in the 2024 class, the 23rd-best tight end in the nation, and the 12th-best prospect in Ohio.
Witten was the big-time talent in this class and one Kentucky sought after. According to Adam Luckett’s KSR+ Big Board, the flex tight end has great ball skills and yards-after-catch ability. He could even possibly contribute as a true freshman. Stoops and staff have recruited his high school of Glenville well, but it also has a strong pipeline with Ohio State. This time, the in-state school won out.

Witten was on Kentucky’s campus the weekend of June 9th for an official visit, but his experience apparently wasn’t enough to steer him away from Ohio State.
Kentucky picked up a tight-end commitment live on KSR radio Friday, when the 3-star from Covington Catholic, Willie Rodriguez, pledged to play for the ‘Cats. Could this have been a factor in deterring Witten? Possibly, but you can never have too much talent and Witten would have made a great addition.
On to the next one.
