Kentucky to Host 4-Star Edge Brian Robinson
Spring practice isn’t just for current players. It’s a valuable opportunity to show prospective players how the Kentucky football team operates. A plethora of prospects have already been through the Joe Craft Football Training Facility, including highly-touted quarterback Cutter Boley. When the team returns from spring break on Monday, another big-time prospect will be in town.
Brian Robinson, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound athlete from just outside of Youngstown, is making a return trip to Kentucky on Monday. 247 Sport’s Allen Trieu reports Robinson is making the trip after visiting Penn State today.
Penn State, Michigan and Kentucky look like the early favorites in this high-profile recruitment. He’s been to State College numerous times and has family ties to Michigan’s Steve Clinkscale. The former UK assistant is in another head-to-head battle with Vince Marrow, who also is well acquainted with the four-star’s family. Marrow made a significant early impression, giving Brian Robinson his first Power Five scholarship offer.
“I remember it like yesterday,” Robinson recalled in a conversation with KSR after he camped in Lexington this summer. “I was amazed because, of course Kentucky was one of my favorite schools. It helps with the hometown ties with Coach Marrow, the Stoops brothers, Lynn Bowden. My coach really likes the school also. It was amazing.”

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
Brian Robinson is arguably the most talented edge prospect in the Midwest. He is the nation’s No. 138 recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is ranked as the No. 38 edge in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 4 player in the state of Ohio.
Vince Marrow has consistently brought contributors to Kentucky from the state of Ohio, but aside from Lynn Bowden, they typically are not among the state’s top-ranked players. Thanks to Youngstown connections, an early offer and Brad White’s reputation as a talent developer at the position, the Cats have a shot at landing a difference-maker on defense.
