One Wildcat, Dezerea Bryant, had an outstanding showing, running the fastest 200 meter by any woman in the world with a time of 22.83, breaking her school record of 23.04. She also won the 60m on Friday. Head coach Edrick Floreal had high praise for Bryant, “You’re a performer, you have to put on a show. The superstars, when they compete the whole world knows about it. You can’t compete and sort of go unnoticed. The 200m showed us that she’s on that level now. That she can compete and serve notice to get herself in position where people at “The Bowerman” and people like that are making an evaluation of how good an athlete is where they have to step up and say ‘oh my goodness this is a lot better than what everyone else is doing.” Here is the recap of the weekend: Friday: Kendra Harrison won the 60m hurdles in 8 seconds, Dezerea Bryant won the 60m dash in 7.27 seconds.
