Just to compare, the men finished last year’s SEC championships with 69.33 points. The highlight of the weekend came from Keni Harrison, who broke her own 60m hurdles record with a time of 7.92. She also helped the 4x400m relay team bring home the silver medal in a time of 3:31.52. Sha'Keela Saunders and Kenyattia Hackworth won the gold and silver medals in the long jump. Saunders posted the 2nd best jump in the NCAA with a distance of 21-feet 6 inches/ 6.55 meters. Also for the women, Rebecca Famurewa brought home the bronze in the weight throw, with a throw of 70'7.25"/21.52. Morganne Phillips placed 4th in the 400m dash with a time of 52.69. Keffri Neal won the bronze in the 800m in a time of 1:48.79. While the men did not perform up to coach Floreal’s standards, there was a finished that should be noted.
