Kentucky trails Gonzaga 42-32 at halftime
Well, that wasn’t fun. It’s hard to pinpoint the worst part of the first-half experience inside Rupp Arena. Is it the 32.3% shooting overall while allowing Gonzaga to hit 46.2% of its attempts? Or maybe losing the rebounding battle 26-17 while giving up 10 offensive boards? How about the fact that Kentucky has trailed 18:53 while leading a whopping 16 seconds?
Yeah, it’s just been rough across the board.
The Zags lead 42-32, led by Graham Ike with 12 and Nolan Hickman and Ben Gregg with 11 points apiece. As for the Cats, Adou Thiero leads the way with eight, followed by Zvonimir Ivisic with seven, Rob Dillingham with six, Antonio Reeves with four, DJ Wagner with three and Justin Edwards and Jordan Burks with two each. Reed Sheppard, Ugonna Onyenso and Aaron Bradshaw haven’t scored a point.
Brutal. Very, very brutal. And not too many positive takeaways, either. Maybe that it’s not worse than it is?
Oh well. Check out the box score. Or don’t. Wouldn’t blame you either way.
20 minutes to right the ship.
