Dekel Crowdus was a top-300 prospect out of Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass who decided to stay home and playing football at the University of Kentucky in the class of 2021. After three years in the program, the former four-star recruit decided to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 4.

Over a month later, Crowdus has found a new college football home. The SEC transfer is headed to the islands. On Thursday evening, the wide receiver committed to Hawaii via a post on his personal Instagram account.

Dekel Crowdus will join Timmy Chang’s Mountain West program that is fresh off a 5-8 (3-5) season. The Rainbow Warriors utilize a run-and-shoot offense that likes to throw the ball around the yard. Hawaii ranked No. 7 overall in passing attempts per game (41.3). That should give Dekel Crowdus a chance to produce at his second school.

The transfer will be a redshirt junior in 2024 and brings four career receptions to Honolulu.
