Kentucky transfer guard Brooklynn Miles commits to Pitt
After spending the 2023-24 season back in her home state, Brooklynn Miles is headed to the northeast.
On Saturday, Miles announced on social media that she will transfer to the Pittsburgh Panthers. The 5-foot-5 point guard started 27 of 32 games played for Kentucky women’s basketball this past season under former head coach Kyra Elzy. Miles averaged 5.8 points, three assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 29.8 minutes per game while shooting 38.8 percent from the floor.
Miles, who was named 2021 Miss Kentucky Basketball before spending her first two college seasons at Tennessee, will have one year of eligibility remaining at Pitt.
Out of Franklin County High School, Miles was considered a three-star prospect from the 2021 recruiting class, per ESPN. After winning Miss Basketball and Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, she opted for the Lady Volunteers.

While at Tennessee, Miles saw limited playing time. She averaged 2.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and two assists in 19.5 minutes per game as a freshman in 2021-22. But those numbers took a nosedive the following season: 0.8 points and one rebound in just 7.2 minutes per contest. She then transferred to Kentucky during the 2023 offseason.
Miles found more success under Elzy in Lexington as a starter, but once Elzy was fired and replaced by Virginia Tech’s Kenny Brooks — who immediately added All-American point guard Georgia Amoore through the portal — there likely wasn’t going to be enough playing time to go around. As a result, Miles went into the portal on April 5 and has since found a new home in Pittsburgh.
