The Kentucky football program is in the midst of a long week of official visitors at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility as Mark Stoops and his entire staff attempt to complete a sizable roster overhaul this offseason. We found out one player who won’t be making a trip to Lexington this week.

Northern Arizona safety transfer Alex McLaughlin committed and signed with Washington on Tuesday.

Kentucky had made contact with the FCS transfer and issued an offer but a visit date was never locked down. Jedd Fisch‘s Big Ten staff in Seattle was able to keep the Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton product spent two seasons playing for the Lumberjacks and earned first-team All-Big Sky honors as a true sophomore after recording 96 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Alex McLaughlin earned Freshman All-American honors when the defensive back logged 71 tackles, five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and four interceptions.

The Wildcats will have to look elsewhere for free agent help in the secondary.
