The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee meets today in Indianapolis to discuss the top 16 teams, which will be revealed Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS; right now, Kentucky has a good chance to be among them.

A fresh batch of Bracketology is out ahead of a big night of hoops. Experts still aren’t sure what to make of the Cats’ recent struggles, but Kentucky is still on the No. 4 seed line on Bracket Matrix, which aggregates all of the NCAA Tournament projections on the internet. Tennessee, tonight’s opponent, is trending as a No. 1 seed.

Joe Lunardi has the Cats as a No. 4 seed and the Vols as a No. 1 seed. In today’s hypothetical bracket, Kentucky would face No. 13 seed Samford in the first round in Seattle and either No. 5 Michigan or No. 12 Yale in the second round. A potential Sweet 16 rematch with No. 1 seed Duke awaits in Newark. Florida is the No. 2 seed in the East Region. Of course, the Cats beat both the Blue Devils and the Gators already this season, two big stars on their NCAA Tournament resume.

Over at The Athletic, Joe Rexrode has Kentucky as a No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region, potentially facing No. 6 seed UConn in the second round in Cleveland. Purdue is the No. 2 seed in the Midwest and Alabama the No. 1 seed.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm is the lowest on the Cats, making them the No. 5 seed in the South Region. No. 1 seed Auburn and No. 9 seed Vanderbilt, who play tonight in Nashville, square off in this bracket, which the Selection Committee typically likes to avoid but may not be able to with so many SEC teams projected to make the field. Right now, 13 SEC teams are set to make the cut with a few more on the bubble.

We’ll find out for sure what the Selection Committee makes of Kentucky’s Jekyll and Hyde resume on Saturday. A win over a projected No. 1 seed would certainly help.
