Kentucky now has two Kattus brothers committed. Could the 'Cats add a third?
Vince Marrow has now landed two of the three Kattus brothers. Can he pull off the trifecta?
On Friday afternoon, Justin Kattus announced on social media that he has committed to the University of Kentucky as a walk-on. Justin, who suits up at tight end and linebacker for Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier, is the younger brother of current Kentucky sophomore tight end Josh Kattus.
Josh took to social media after the news dropped to congratulate Justin by saying that the two “have always dreamed of the chance to play college ball together ever since we were kids!”
Why is this significant? The youngest of the three brothers, Tucker Kattus, is a three-star lineman being heavily recruited by Marrow (Kentucky’s associate head coach) and the Wildcats. Tucker is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound junior at St. Xavier who plays inside on the offensive line. Ranked No. 621 overall in the 2025 class by the On3 Industry Ranking, he holds offers from the likes of UK, Michigan, Michigan State, Arkansas, and many more.
With both of his older siblings now set to play college football in Lexington, will Tucker follow in their footsteps? Marrow’s recruiting pitch has certainly gained another layer because of it. Kentucky was the very first Divison I offer for Tucker, which he earned all the way back in June 2021. He even told KSR a few months ago, following a gameday visit to Lexington, that it would be “a dream come true” to play with Josh at the next level.

It won’t be as simple as that though. The dad of the family, Eric Kattus, was a star tight end at Michigan before spending seven years in the NFL. The Wolverines — now fresh off a national championship — have been prioritizing Tucker as a legacy recruit since extending him a scholarship almost one year ago to the day.
Tucker has visited Michigan many times over the years thanks to his dad’s connections. He was on a game visit back in November which he says made Michigan “a top school for me.” Will that be enough to keep him from joining his brothers?
