Kentucky Unveils Uniform Combination vs. South Carolina ft. Chrome Helmets
Once upon a time, Kevin Richardson walked through a crowded Commonwealth Stadium pressbox. “Wow, those are awesome.” I happily accepted the blog compliments from the Backstreet Boy, ignoring the fact that his comments were directed toward the shiny Kentucky helmets. Kentucky first rolled out the Chrome Domes against South Carolina in 2014. Aging like a fine wine, the chrome helmets will be back on display when the Wildcats host the Gamecocks Saturday night at Kroger Field.
The Wildcats are changing things up. In the first three non-conference games in Lexington, Kentucky exclusively wore blue helmets and blue jerseys with white pants. Friday afternoon UK revealed the Wildcats will match the chrome helmets with blue jerseys and pants.
Although unscientific, my RoushAlytics tell me the Cats are 14-3 while wearing the Chromes Domes. That is definitely not a wild guess that I did not just make up on the spot. Trust me.
Go Kentucky. Beat South Carolina.
