Kentucky Volleyball adds Xavier transfer Kelly Franxman to roster

Head coach Craig Skinner has added another Bluegrass native to his roster.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Kentucky Volleyball has brought Xavier transfer Kelly Franxman into the fold. The 6-foot outside hitter will join the Wildcats as a rising redshirt senior with one year of eligibility remaining. She will be available to play this fall. Franxman is a native of Covington, KY, and spent the first three years of her college career with the Musketeers.
Franxman attended Scott High School in Taylor, KY where she also played basketball and tennis before continuing her volleyball career at Xavier. This past season, she appeared in 25 total matches, registering 2.54 kills per set while hitting .193. Franxman also recorded 213 kills on over 650 wings for the Musketeers. Her 1.96 digs per set were among the best in the Big East. She was especially productive towards the end of the season for Xavier, which finished 11-18 on the year.

During her stint with Xavier, Franxman was tabbed to the All-Big East Academic Team three times. She is now the third Kentucky native on this season’s roster.
Kentucky will look to bounce back this fall after a surprise exit from the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The ‘Cats produced an impressive season, but the talent level was not up to par compared to the 2020 national champion squad.
