Later tonight, No. 9 Kentucky Volleyball returns to Memorial Coliseum as they take on No. 7 Penn State in a heated top-10 matchup. On top of that, the ‘Cats are celebrating National Read a Book Day with a book drive in collaboration with UK Healthcare.

While the majority of the team featured children’s books as the ones they’re bringing to the drive, all genres of books are welcome.

The book drive event comes after a 3-0 sweep in the 2024 Bluegrass Battle against Northern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Morehead State. Over those three games, Kentucky showed out. Sophomore Brooklyn DeLeye tallied 38 kills and only five errors over 78 total attacks, putting her at a .487 clip. Senior libero Eleanor Beavin added 15 digs and six service aces. Setter Emma Grome finished the Battle with 96 assists, six kills, and a pair of service aces.

As it stands, the ‘Cats are 3-1 this season coming into the 2024 Kentucky Invitational. On Friday, Kentucky faces off against the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Lions brutally upset No. 4 Louisville 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-13). Everyone say “Thank you Penn State!”
