Kentucky Volleyball Lands a Two-Time All-American
Purdue fans can’t be too happy with Craig Skinner. The Kentucky volleyball coach is raiding the Boilermakers’ roster and the latest transfer portal addition is not only one of the best from the Big Ten, but one of the best volleyball players in America.
On Monday, the University of Kentucky announced the addition of Eva Hudson to the volleyball team. Hudson has earned AVCA Second-Team All-American honors in back-to-back seasons for the Boilermakers. Not too shabby.
A 6-foot-1 outside hitter from Fort Wayne, the former Top 25 recruit has one year of eligibility remaining. Paired alongside First-Team All-American Brooklyn DeLeye, the Cats will have one of the best offensive attacks in America next fall.
Hudson has been awesome ever since she stepped on the scene in 2022. She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year after leading the league in points (583) and total kills (515). She did it in the best league in volleyball. To compare it to football, that’s like a true freshman leading the SEC in passing yards and touchdowns. It just doesn’t happen.
Her dominance has continued through three seasons at Purdue, leading the Big Ten in kills every single year. She had two more than Jess Mruzik, the MOP of the National Championship, who played in three more games than Hudson. It’s nuts.

Hudson will bring 1,642 career kills with her to Lexington to help take the best volleyball program in the SEC to the next level.
Another former Purdue teammate will join her at Kentucky. Lizzie Carr, the younger sister of men’s basketball player Andrew Carr, is making the move from West Lafayette to play middle for Skinner’s squad. The younger Carr has two years of eligibility remaining.
Louisville volleyball’s Final Four appearance made headlines over the last week around Kentucky. Craig Skinner is making offseason moves that will make sure Kentucky is competing for a National Championship in 2025.
