The undefeated Kentucky volleyball team is ready for the second half of its dominant 2020-21 campaign.

After winning eight consecutive matches in the fall, Kentucky’s 16-match spring schedule has been announced, with matches set to begin on January 29. Like we saw in the fall, teams will play two-match series on back-to-back days at the same time.

UK will first head to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas on January 29 and 30, with the Razorbacks currently tied for second in the SEC through the fall season. The Wildcats will stay on the road for a four-match opening road trip to begin the spring with a series at Georgia on Feb. 13-14.

From there, UK will head back home for its spring home opener with a two-match slate against South Carolina on Feb. 20 and 21, followed by matches against LSU (March 5 and 6), Ole Miss (March 12 and 13), and the final round of matches on March 24-25 against Alabama.

The Wildcats will also travel to Texas A&M (Feb. 26 and 27) and Florida (March 19 and 20).

In August, the NCAA announced it was moving its championship to the spring. The Final Four is scheduled for April 22-24, with a 48-team bracket. Thirty-two of the teams will be automatic qualifiers, with 16 at-large selections. The normal bracket size for the championship is 64 teams. Regular-season play will span from Jan. 22-April 3, with selections April 4.

Times and potential television assignments will be announced at a later date.

At the conclusion of the fall season, Kentucky came in ranked No. 2 in the final AVCA Fall Division I Coaches Poll, behind only Texas. UK also finished as the top-ranked team in the Southeastern Conference, with Florida (7), Missouri (8), South Carolina (13) and Arkansas (15) finishing behind the Wildcats.

Across the team’s first eight matches, UK won 24 of 27 sets, never dropping more than one set in a game. With a stable of veteran stars and standout recruits, Kentucky solidified itself as a legitimate national title contender.

Now, they’ll get to prove it as they close out the regular season and make a run in the NCAA Tournament.
