Kentucky won set one 25-20, set two 25-21, and set three with a whopping 25-14 closeout performance. This is the team's second-consecutive sweep in the tournament, also shutting out Murray State in the first round last night. Star outside hitter Leah Edmond led the way with 13 kills, followed by Brooke Morgan with 12. Gabby Curry finished with a team-high 18 digs, with Alli Stumler also adding 15. Setter Madison Lilley contributed 37 assists and five digs. In the last home match of the season, the Big Blue Nation absolutely did their part to fill up Memorial Coliseum and give the Cats a massive home-field advantage: https://twitter.com/NCAAVolleyball/status/1069027934701273088 Here was the pregame hype video: https://twitter.com/KentuckyVB/status/1068977098671513600 Kentucky will take on the defending national champion Nebraska Cornhuskers, the team that knocked them out of the tournament last season, in the Sweet Sixteen next Friday, December 7. We'll miss the Volleyball Cats at Memorial the rest of the way, but we're looking forward to meeting back up there to hang a championship banner here in a couple weeks. Go Cats! [mobile_ad]
