It’s football time in the Bluegrass (but in Jacksonville, Florida). Today at noon, your University of Kentucky Wildcats (7-5, 3-4) play the three-time national champion Clemson Tigers (8-4, 4-4) for the coveted TaxSlayer Gator Bowl trophy at Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium.

Kentucky-Clemson Series History

  • Kentucky leads the head-to-series with an 8-5 record all-time. Kentucky won the first four meetings early in the 20th century.
  • Clemson beat Kentucky in the 1993 Peach Bowl thanks to one of Kentucky’s all-time unforgettable bloopers.
  • Kentucky beat Clemson in the 2006 Music City Bowl, the first of five straight bowl games for the Wildcats.
  • Clemson beat Kentucky in the 2009 Music City Bowl, Rich Brooks’ final game.
