The SEC availability report revealed a surprise the night before Kentucky takes on Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The Gators’ top running back will be sidelined for Saturday’s matchup against the Wildcats.

Montrell Johnson Jr. was downgraded from questionable to OUT on the Friday night injury report. Johnson leads the Gators in rushing with 373 yards, ranking tenth in the SEC. Billy Napier did not expect Johnson to miss a significant amount of time, but it’s enough to sideline him for the game against Kentucky.

There will be one more availability report, released tomorrow 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Players must be listed as out (0% chance to play), doubtful (25% chance to play), questionable (50% chance to play), or probable (75% chance to play).

Most of the Florida football players listed as questionable were downgraded to out around 24 hours before kicking off against Kentucky. The Gators will be without at least 14 players against Kentucky, including RB1 and QB1, Graham Mertz.

Kentucky Injury Report

Mark Stoops did not make any changes to the Kentucky injury report ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Gators. Running back Chip Trayanum, defensive back Terhyon Nichols, and kicker Jacob Kauwe are all still probable, meaning we’ll likely see them suit up against the Gators. For Trayanum, it sounds like he’ll be making his season debut in a couple of days.
