Kentucky vs. Florida the third most-watched game of Week 2
We weren’t joking when we said Kentucky vs. Florida was one of the biggest games in college football last week. ESPN just released the numbers from Saturday and 4.3 million people tuned in to see the Cats beat the Gators, making it ESPN’s most-watched Saturday September game since 2018. It was the third most-watched game of the week behind Alabama vs. Texas on FOX, which drew an insane 10.6 million viewers, and Tennessee vs. Pitt on ABC, which averaged 4.5 million viewers.
National takes on Kentucky vs. Florida
The game is still the talk of Week 2, with the national media giving the Cats a ton of love for their gritty performance in the Swamp.
“They said, we are going to outlast Florida in this game and they did,” Connor O’Gara said on The Paul Finebaum Show. “Kentucky is for real and if you’re sleeping on this team, you shouldn’t be right now.”

You likely saw this last night, but Kirk Herbstreit named Kentucky his top team of the week and Stoops his top coach. He also called into the Mark Stoops show to congratulate his friend on breaking Bear Bryant’s all-time wins record.
“I love watching your team play, I have since you got there,” Herbstreit said. “Does Lexington understand what they have in their head coach?“
