Tomorrow night, No. 12 Kentucky Baseball was scheduled to play No. 10 Louisville at Jim Patterson Stadium. Given this morning’s mass shooting in downtown Louisville that killed five and injured nine more, the schools have decided to postpone the game, releasing this joint statement:

In light of the tragic events in Louisville on Monday, the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky baseball programs have made a mutual decision to postpone Tuesday night’s baseball game at Jim Patterson Stadium.

The two programs will work to reschedule the contest for a later date.

After dropping its series at Georgia over the weekend, Kentucky is 27-5 overall, 9-3 in SEC play. On Thursday, the Cats hit the road for a weekend series at LSU, a nice chance to regain momentum following a disappointing weekend.
