The Governor’s Cup will once again be an early kick. SEC game times were announced for Saturday, Nov. 30, and Kentucky vs. No. 19 Louisville will kick off at Noon ET at Kroger Field. It will air on the SEC Network.

The Governor’s Cup has been a day game in each contest that has ended the regular season at Kroger Field. We thought that was changing in 2024. Back in June, ESPN revealed time windows for every game of the season. Kentucky vs. Louisville was a “flex,” denoting an afternoon or night game. The season changed ESPN’s plans for rivalry weekend.

Kentucky moved to 4-6 on Saturday with a 48-6 win over Murray State. Meanwhile, Louisville suffered an embarrassing loss at Stanford, allowing the Cardinal to come back from a 35-21 deficit in the fourth quarter to win the game on a 52-yard field goal, just their fourth victory of the season. It was an all-time collapse for the Cardinals, who dropped to 6-4, 4-3 in the ACC. They host Pitt on Saturday, while Kentucky travels to Austin to play No. 3 Texas, a 3:30 p.m. ET kick on ABC.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Kentucky has won the last five games in the series. Last year’s win may have been the most improbable, with the Cats entering the game as double-digit underdogs and somehow leaving Louisville with a 38-31 victory over the No. 9 Cardinals. That game should serve as a timely reminder that no matter how bleak things look for the Cats, there’s something about Louisville that brings out the best in them.
