Are you having Tom Hart withdrawal? You’re in luck because KSR’s favorite play-by-play announcer will be back in the Bluegrass soon.

ESPN just released its commentator assignments for Weeks 0 and 1 of the college football season and Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers, and Cole Cubelic will call Kentucky vs. Southern Miss on the SEC Network on August 31 (7:45 p.m. ET). I believe Tom shared this news while guest-hosting KSR a few weeks ago, but it’s nice to see it in print. The trio of Hart, Rodgers, and Cubelic will anchor SEC Saturday Night on SEC Network for the eighth straight season. In fact, according to the release, Hart just signed a new contract with ESPN, so congrats to him on that.

In other ESPN commentator news, Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, and Holly Rowe will return as the top team calling marquee matchups on ABC. This year, that will include SEC games as the SEC on ABC deal begins. The other ABC/ESPN top teams are Sean McDonough/Greg McElroy/Molly McGrath and Joe Tessitore/Jesse Palmer/Katie George. Those three groups will rotate the SEC on ABC 3:30 p.m. games this season. Kentucky will play at least two games on ABC this year, the Weeks 2 and 3 matchups vs. South Carolina and Georgia at Kroger Field.
