Kentucky WBB a 6-seed in latest ESPN Bracketology
Back in May, ESPN’s Charlie Creme released his first Bracketology for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, and he had Kentucky as a 7-seed originally. However, in his latest update, the ‘Cats have moved up a line.
In Thursday’s updated Bracketology, Kentucky comes in as a 6-seed in the Birmingham region. UConn (1), LSU (2), Duke (3), West Virginia (4) and Maryland (5) are the teams ranked atop the region.
In the Round of 64, Kenny Brooks‘ squad is set to take on 11-seed Princeton.
This exact matchup (6-seed Kentucky vs 11-seed Princeton) was the last game Kentucky played in the NCAA Tournament back in the 2021-22 season. Kyra Elzy’s second year as head coach ended in a 69-62 upset in the first round.
However, if Kentucky were to right their wrong by taking down the Tigers, then they’d most likely be set up for a date with the Duke Blue Devils in the second round. Unfortunately for Kentucky, that game would take place in Durham, so that would basically be a road game.

Regardless, Kentucky hasn’t made an appearance in the big dance since the 2021-22 season, and that’ll change quickly under Kenny Brooks.
