In last week’s AP Poll, Kentucky stayed at No. 16 for the second consecutive week after a 42-point win against Queens and a 30-point win at Purdue. However, those were teams that Kentucky was supposed to beat, and there was no one that the Cats could reasonably leap in the poll lost, so the lack of movement made sense.

This week, Kentucky would yet again come in at No. 16 in the AP Poll. A six-point win over Belmont wasn’t enough to move the Cats up, even with Duke, West Virginia and Michigan State — all of which were ranked ahead of the Cats last week — losing this week. Georgia Tech (13) and Tennessee (15), who are both undefeated, leaped in front of Kentucky.

South Carolina (2) remains as the top team in the SEC with Texas (5), LSU (6) and Oklahoma (9) in the Top 10. As just mentioned, Tennessee rose three spots to No. 15. Alabama (20) and Ole Miss (25) are the other SEC teams in the Top 25.
