Kentucky WBB comes in at No. 20 in latest AP Poll
Kentucky entered the season as the No. 22 team in the country, and after the first week of the season, the ‘Cats are now slotted in at the No. 20 spot in the latest AP Top 25.
South Carolina (1), Texas (4), LSU (7), Oklahoma (9) and Ole Miss (19) are the SEC teams that are currently ranked ahead of Kentucky. Alabama (22) also made the Top 25, making that seven total SEC teams that are ranked.

In the season opener, Kentucky pummeled USC Upstate, beating the Spartans by 55 points in a 98-43 win. Clara Strack led the team in scoring with her 22 points on the night, and she grabbed eight rebounds to go along with that. Georgia Amoore, on the other hand, posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.

Then, in Game 2, the Norse of Northern Kentucky made their way to Historic Memorial Coliseum and put up a good fight to start the game. Through the first quarter of play, the ‘Cats had a very narrow four-point lead, but in the end, Kentucky pulled away, winning 70-41 to move to 2-0.
Clara Silva led Kentucky in the scoring column, putting up 18 points on 9-14 shooting from the field. She also recorded a team-high five blocks against the Norse. Strack put up a monster stat line, tallying 15 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and four blocks in 31 minutes of play.
