Kentucky WBB commit Maddyn Greenway named Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year

Kentucky is getting a special, special player in Maddyn Greenway.
On Thursday, the 2026 four-star point guard was named the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year. She is currently averaging 32.9 points (9th nationally), 8.8 assists (3rd nationally), 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 steals per game for 29-0 Providence Academy.
Additionally, when she committed to Kentucky, she told KSR that she tries to model her game after SEC Newcomer of the Year Georgia Amoore. It seems like that’s working out for her so far.
“[Georgia Amoore is] someone who, as a point guard, I really try to replicate my game after,” the 5-foot-8 guard revealed. “Obviously, she’s undersized, I’m undersized.”
Greenway continued, “I just love how she plays, and I think we play pretty similar. I was talking with her on my visit because she was showing me around and trying to make me feel welcome, and she was saying that when he brought her out of high school, he took her, really grown her game. She was like, ‘you’re steps ahead of where I was’. She was like ‘I can say that confidently’. I was like, that’s just cool to see if he can take, you know, he can transform anyone and into what she’s become. It’s amazing to see.”

Just like Amoore, Greenway has earned some much-deserved recognition for her on-court success. She can’t get to Lexington soon enough.
