Kentucky WBB contacts Liberty guard Asia Boone

With Georgia Amoore and Dazia Lawrence running out of eligibility, Kenny Brooks and the staff have had to go to work to replace that production in the backcourt. They’ve already landed one talented piece in WKU transfer Josie Gilvin. However, there’s a possibility that they reel in another Conference USA guard as well.
Sources told KSR that Kentucky has been in contact with Liberty transfer Asia Boone. She averaged 10.2 points per game as a sophomore while knocking down 36.9% of her shots from beyond the arc.
The 2024 CUSA Freshman of the Year put up 11.3 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game in the Conference USA Tournament, going 6-14 (42.9%) from three-point range. Against Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, she suffered an injury just five minutes into the game.
Boone had 15 points against No. 7 Duke in Liberty’s second game of the season, and she posted 14+ points in eight total games this season. She’s able to operate as the primary ball handler too, which is always a plus.

Overall, Boone is a versatile player that would be able to serve as a valuable extension to the rotation. Though she may not be a starter at a place like Kentucky, she would certainly be a nice addition.
