Kentucky WBB game against Auburn postponed due to COVID-19
Coronavirus issues within the Auburn Women’s Basketball program have resulted in another delayed game for Kentucky.
On Sunday morning, it was announced that the No. 22 Wildcats’ (7-3) upcoming matchup, scheduled for this Thursday against the Auburn Tigers (8-3), has been postponed. The game was planned for an 8 p.m. EST tipoff time down in Auburn, AL, but will not be played at that time due to a breakout of COVID-19 within the Auburn locker room.

This is now the second game of the 2021-22 season that Kentucky has had to postpone due to COVID-19 problems within the opposing program. The first came earlier this month when a Dec. 17 matchup against Morgan State was postponed.
UK is currently seeking a replacement opponent for the Auburn game, however, and more information on that will be released when available. Kentucky’s last game was Dec. 19, a 67-44 win over USC-Upstate. If a replacement opponent for Auburn isn’t found, the ‘Cats could potentially go 15 days in between games.
