When Kenny Brooks arrived at Kentucky, he put together a roster and a staff that can not only be very competitive in the SEC, but in the postseason as well.

The ‘Cats have not made the NCAA Tournament since the 2021-22 season when they were upset by 11-seed Princeton 69-62 in the first round. However, that could change as soon as this season, and ESPN even has Kentucky as a 7-seed in their latest Bracketology for next year’s big dance. The opportunity for Kentucky to make some noise in the postseason is very real.

That would explain why our friends at FanDuel have Kentucky at +25000 odds to win the 2025 National Championship. While +25000 odds are indeed very long odds, those are actually the 15th best odds in all the land.

Of course, South Carolina sits atop as a major favorite to repeat after going 38-0 last season.

  • South Carolina: +160
  • UConn: +400
  • USC: +450
  • Notre Dame: +600
  • Texas: +850
  • UCLA: +1300
  • LSU: +2000
  • NC State: +4000
  • Iowa State: +8000
  • Stanford: +10000
  • Kansas State: +10000
  • Duke: +10000
  • Baylor: +10000
  • Oklahoma: +10000
  • Iowa: +25000
  • Kentucky: +25000

Putting some money on the ‘Cats to bring home their first-ever National Championship is certainly a risk, but it comes with a big reward too. Plus, when you realize that Kentucky has the 15th best odds to win the National Championship, it quickly becomes apparent that next year’s squad is legit. Don’t forget that Kenny Brooks took Virginia Tech to the Final Four in 2023, so he’s made big runs in the NCAA Tournament before.
