Kentucky WBB names Jenny Huth associate coach of player development
Kyra Elzy has been busy filling out her staff this offseason.
On Monday afternoon, Kentucky women’s basketball announced the hiring of Jenny Huth as the program’s new associate coach of player development. Huth is the third new staffer brought into the fold by Elzy this spring, joining Liz Brown (NIL director) and Jodi Ansert (recruiting assistant).
Huth is a former Oregon State women’s basketball assistant coach, where she stayed for the last two seasons before accepting a position in Lexington. Prior to that, she served as the head coach of Northern Colorado (2018-21), posting a 48-41 overall record during her tenure. Huth was also an assistant at UCLA from 2011-18 and made coaching stops at Oakland (assistant) and Florida State (graduate assistant) throughout her career.
“I am thrilled to welcome Jenny Huth to Lexington,” Elzy said in UK’s press release. “She is respected in women’s college basketball, and she will bring a lot of great experience and knowledge to our program. She exudes a contagious passion for the game, but also for preparing young women for life after college. I am confident our team will love her compassion, determination and loyal nature.”
Playing her college basketball at Colorado from 1998-2002, Huth was a star player for the Buffaloes. She was a three-time All-Big 12 selection and helped lead Colorado to an Elite Eight appearance as a senior in 2002. Huth finished her career with nearly 1,400 points and over 200 made three-pointers on 40.7 percent shooting from deep.

Additionally, she won a gold medal for Team USA at the 2001 World University Games before a brief stint playing professionally.
Huth will take over a similar role at UK that was most recently held by Daniel Boice, who was named the director of player development with the Florida Gators women’s basketball team in May. Boice spent seven seasons in Lexington as Kentucky’s director of player development before moving on to the Sunshine State.
