Kentucky WBB only jumps one spot in AP Poll Top 25 following two ranked wins

Up until last week, Kentucky women’s basketball hadn’t played the toughest schedule in 2024-25. But the Wildcats are slowly beginning to earn respect after taking down a pair of ranked opponents over the last five days — emphasis on the slowly.
Kentucky moved up one spot to No. 11 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll, which was released on Monday afternoon. Kenny Brooks‘ squad took down Alabama 65-56 at home on Thursday before Georgia Amoore poured in a program-tying 43 points in a 95-86 road win over Oklahoma on Sunday. Kentucky is now 4-1 in Quad 1 opportunities this season.

Looking at the updated NET rankings, Kentucky moved up three spots to No. 17. The Wildcats have still yet to drop a game at home, holding an overall record of 19-2 (7-1 SEC). UK has passed some tests it really needed to ace, but the schedule only continues to get tougher. Four of the seven remaining games are against ranked opponents, including No. 2 South Carolina on the road.
