Kentucky WBB will play Princeton at 4 p.m. on Saturday

Tipoff for Kentucky Women’s Basketball’s NCAA Tournament game has been announced.
The six-seeded Wildcats will take on the 11-seeded Princeton Tigers this coming Saturday, March 19 at 4:00 p.m. EST up in Bloomington, IN in the opening round of the Bridgeport Region. The game will take place inside of Assembly Hall and will be broadcast on ESPN.
Kentucky earned an automatic qualifying bid after beating No. 1 South Carolina in the 2022 SEC Tournament. UK had been projected as a seven-seed leading up to Sunday’s Selection Show but was surprisingly bumped up to a six-seed line that gives them a more favorable draw moving forward.
An opening-round victory for the ‘Cats would set them up to play a Round of 32 contest sometime on Monday.

If Kentucky were to beat Princeton, that would set up a matchup between either 3-seeded Indiana or 14-seeded Charlotte, which would both hold interesting storylines. The Hoosiers spanked the ‘Cats in the third game of the season in Bloomington by a final score of 88-67. For Charlotte, former Kentucky WBB players Kameron Roach and KeKe McKinney both suit up for the 49ers, with McKinney taking home C-USA Defensive Player of the Year honors.
UK will take a 10-game winning streak to Bloomington as one of the hottest groups in the country, but what happened in the past won’t matter come Saturday.
“It’s all a reset. It is a new season,” Elzy said after learning about the team’s draw. “You just have to be focused on the job at hand and, right now, it’s Princeton.”
