Kentucky went undefeated in Rupp for the sixth time under Calipari

With Tuesday night’s win on Senior Night, your University of Kentucky Wildcats completed an undefeated season at home in Rupp Arena with a perfect 18-0 in 2021-22. It’s the sixth time Kentucky has gone unbeaten at home under John Calipari and the first time since Tyler Ulis and Jamal Murray carried the 2015-16 team through a winning homestand in their only year together.
Of course, Calipari’s 2014-15 team went undefeated at home, on the road, and at neutral sites in its regular season; before the 31-0 team, Calipari’s first three Kentucky teams never lost in front of the home crowd.
Tuesday night’s Ole Miss win makes six.

Calipari: “Our fans are the biggest part of what happens here.”
After clinching the undefeated home season with a win over the Rebels, John Calipari told reporters in his postgame press conference, “Our fans, I’ve said it all along, are the biggest part of what happens here. It’s what sets us apart.”
He added, “Our fans are the biggest piece of this, and they pick these kids up. They understand, the ones that have really been following, it’s been consistent over 13 years how we play. It’s been consistent. It doesn’t mean we win every game, but it’s been consistent about this is who we are and how we try to play toward March. This team is no different.”
