Nobody is Picking Kentucky to Beat Georgia
It’s probably a wise decision to predict a win for the top-ranked team in America. As college football Saturday gets rolling, anybody who is everybody that picks college football games is picking Kentucky to fall to No. 1 Georgia. The math checks out: the Wildcats are 22-point underdogs at home.
An outright Kentucky upset seems out of the question for most, but some still think the Cats will cover the big spread. Do not consider CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee among them.
“I’ll take the Bulldogs to not only win but cover the massive spread,” he wrote. “The Wildcats have fallen off a cliff, quarterback Will Levis has thrown more interceptions (five) than touchdowns (four) over the last four games, and the loss to Vanderbilt last week has to be deflating for a team that once had high hopes.”
However, a few of his colleagues at CBS Sports are taking the Cats to cover.
It’s much of the same over at The Athletic. Almost the entire staff has Georgia running away with a win, but Bruce Feldman believes Kentucky can cover the big number.

“Will Levis has had two dud performances out of the last three, but my hunch is that the Cats will be competitive and hang around,” says Feldman. “UK has kept it kind of tight against the Dawgs the past two years.” He’s not wrong about that. Kentucky has actually covered in three straight games against Georgia.
Closer to home, our friend from On3 HQ in Nashville, J.D. Pickell, is not picking the Cats to cover. Pickell believes the Bulldogs’ defense will overwhelm Levis and Co. in a 43-17 Georgia victory. Check out a complete breakdown of the game by visiting the On3 on YouTube.
We’ll find out when the rubber meets the road at 3:30 pm EST on CBS.
