Kentucky just won in an emotional roller coaster of a game with a one-point victory over 13-seed Liberty, but now, it has to prepare for its next opponent, 5-seed Kansas State.

The purple Wildcats beat 12-seed Fairfield 85-41, comfortably cruising to a win over the MAAC Tournament Champions. Ayoka Lee, who is just returning to action following a foot injury, put up 17 points on 7-10 shooting in the win. She also had 10 rebounds on the day. Kansas State also has a star guard on their roster in Serena Sundell, who scored 18 points on 8-10 shooting, also tallying nine assists against the Stags.

Kansas State shot 53% (34-64) from the field and 35% (8-23) from three-point range, and they held Fairfield to 29% (15-51) overall and just 16% (5-31) from deep. Overall, the Wildcats looked very impressive in their opening game of the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky could have been playing a team who calls their forwards “road runners”, but we don’t live in that universe. Instead, it’ll be a battle of the Wildcats on Sunday.

While we know where the game will be and what day it will be on, we do not have a time or a television channel set in stone just yet. We’ll have to wait for the games out on the west coast to wrap up tonight before we figure that out.
