Earlier today, 2024 five-star forward Jayden Quaintance eliminated John Calipari and Arkansas from his list of schools. Is Kentucky also out of the running for its former signee? According to Matt Jones, Mark Pope will no longer visit Quaintance tonight. The two parties had an in-home visit scheduled for today.

Louisville and Memphis are the other schools in the running for Quaintance, who took an official visit to Louisville last week. He is expected to visit Memphis this weekend while remaining open to potential interest elsewhere. Quaintance requested a release from his National Letter of Intent back on April 10 following John Calipari’s departure from Kentucky and ensuing move to Arkansas. He reopened his recruitment while keeping a path back to Lexington on the table, although where the Cats stand now that tonight’s visit is off certainly doesn’t look good.

Wherever the 6’9″ forward lands, he could be for two seasons as he is not eligible for the NBA Draft until 2026 because of his age. The youngest McDonald’s All-American ever, Quaintance was the highest-ranked member of Kentucky’s 2024 class, of which only Travis Perry remains. Perry reaffirmed his commitment to the program last night.
