Kentucky Women's Basketball will take Feast Week Foreign Trip
The Kentucky women’s basketball team has picked up tickets to paradise. This fall the Wildcats will be in the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam.
Kyra Elzy’s Cats will play three teams in three days, two of which were in the NCAA Tournament last year. They’ll tip things off Nov. 23 against NC State at 3:15 pm, followed by a meeting the next day against Colorado at 1 pm. The event will conclude Nov. 25 when Kentucky takes on Cincinnati at 3:15 pm.
The Feast Week Tournament in St. Thomas has become a frequent destination for the Kentucky women’s basketball program. It’s the fourth time the Wildcats have made the trip, most recently winning the whole thing back in 2018. Rhyne Howard earned MVP honors and Taylor Murray was named to the all-tournament team ass the Cats defeated UCLA, South Florida and North Carolina.

This season the Wildcats are returning nine players, most notably homegrown talent Maddie Scherr, who averaged 11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists in her first season back in Kentucky. Another former Kentucky Miss Basketball is coming home this offseason. One of three newcomers is former Franklin County Flyer Brooklynn Miles, who transferred from Tennessee this summer.
A Feast Week on the road in paradise. Sounds nice. I’ll happily trade in a piece of turkey for a spot on the beach in St. Thomas.
