Kentucky Women's Track & Field Finishes 5th at the NCAA Championships

  [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="643"] ukathletics.com[/caption] Over the weekend, both the men and women's track and field teams competed at the NCAA Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The women finished 5th overall with 35 points, a new school record, and 1 point away from reaching the winners podium. The men's team finished with 5 total points and a 38th place finish. Here is a breakdown of the results from the championship weekend: Friday- Sha'Keela Saunders finished the long jump with a distance of 20-feet, 11.75 inches; good enough for the silver medal. Saturday- Kendra Harrison's performance in the 60-meter hurdles was the highlight of the weekend for Kentucky. She became the first ever 60-meter champion from Kentucky with a time of 7.87 seconds. It was the 5th fastest time n collegiate history. Dezerea Bryant won the bronze medal in the 200m with a time of 22.86 Brad Szpka finshed 5th in the indoor shot put with a distance of 63'6/19.35. @PerkiliciousKSR
