Kentucky WR Rahsaan Lewis charged with DUI in Lexington
Kentucky walk-on wide receiver Rahsaan Lewis was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following an arrest early Sunday morning in Lexington.
The arrest was made at 535 S. Upper Street at 2:58 a.m. Sunday after Lewis allegedly drove 65 miles per hour on a 35-mph street. He showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol concentration of .153. The senior receiver was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, improper start from a parked position and reckless driving.
The Lexington Herald-Leader was the first to report the details of Lewis’ arrest.
“We are aware of the incident and we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops,” UK spokesperson Susan Lax said in a statement.
According to the citation, a police officer observed Lewis’ vehicle accelerate quickly at a stoplight at the intersection of High Street and South Upper Street.

“The subject accelerated his vehicle so fast, it created a burnout with the tires, making a high pitched squealing noise,” the citation reads, adding that the movement was not safe and Lewis did not operate his vehicle carefully. The Kentucky pass-catcher was then pulled over after going roughly 30 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Lewis transferred to Kentucky back in 2020 after making stops at UCF and FAU to begin his career. He played in six games for the Wildcats as a junior in 2021, totaling two catches for four yards while also returning a punt 12 yards vs. New Mexico State. The 5-foot-11 receiver missed seven games due to a knee injury.
He participated in Kentucky’s practice early Tuesday morning, which was open to the media.
Lewis is the son of NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis. His father won two Super Bowls (XXXV, XLVII) and was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, setting league records for most career combined tackles (2,059) and career solo tackles (1,568).
