Kentucky's Chauncey Magwood, Chris Lewis hint at transfer
Kentucky sophomore Chauncey Magwood and redshirt freshman Chris Lewis may be the first players to hit the transfer portal at the conclusion of the regular season, hinting at potential breakups with the program on social media.
Just one day after the Wildcats’ victory over Louisville, the second-year pass-catchers bid farewell to Big Blue Nation.
“It’s been real #BBN,” Magwood wrote.
“It was fun while it lasted #BBN,” Lewis added shortly after.
Magwood played in 12 games for the Wildcats in 2022, finishing the regular season with 104 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions, good for 14.9 yards per catch. His two biggest games of his career came against Florida and South Carolina this season, finishing with 47 yards on two catches vs. the Gators and 37 yards on two catches vs. the Gamecocks.
He didn’t register a reception after Kentucky’s midseason victory over Mississippi State back in October.
A former three-star wide receiver out of Leesburg, Ga., Magwood originally selected the Wildcats over Florida State, Louisville, Nebraska, Arkansas and South Carolina in the 2021 class.

As for Lewis, he registered just two catches for 22 yards and a touchdown as a redshirt freshman in 2022, scoring on a two-yard reception vs. Youngstown State back in September.
The Pleasant Grove, Ala. native originally committed to Kentucky over Notre Dame, Louisville, Oregon, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Nebraska, among other offers in the class of 2021. He was also a three-star prospect.
Both players showed promise during short stints in Lexington, receiving praise from the coaching staff at various points throughout fall camp and early in the season. With the emergence of freshmen stars Barion Brown and Dane Key, though, their future roles with the program have been left in doubt.
Now, it appears both will be looking elsewhere to continue their respective careers.
