Kentucky's Emilien Pitre named All-American by D1 Baseball

Another postseason honor has come in for a talented Bat Cat.
This time, it’s infielder Émilien Pitre, who was tabbed as a Third Team All-American on Wednesday by D1 Baseball. This is the second All-American honor for the native of Quebec, Canada, who was also named a Third Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings.
Filling in as Kentucky’s No. 2 hitter in the lineup, Pitre was among the nation’s best second basemen this past season, recording just two errors across 255 chances for a fielding percentage of .992. He was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Defensive Team for the second straight season, as well.
On offense, Pitre finished the year hitting .301 with 57 runs, 58 RBI, and 10 home runs. His 26 stolen bases rank as the most by one player in a single season during the Nick Mingione era.

One of the top-ranked prospects from Canada out of high school, Pitre has developed into arguably the program’s best all-around player. He’s been labeled as one of the college baseball’s Top 10 second basemen since before the 2024 season and was a major why Kentucky advanced to the school’s first-ever College World Series earlier this month.
Pitre is the second Wildcat to earn an All-American honor this postseason. Last week, junior outfielder Ryan Waldschmidt was selected to the Third Team by Baseball America.
